Hyrdaulic Brake Kit For 1-26D Model

Hydraulic Brake, Shoulder Harness, and Battery Tray Kit for 1-26D Model. This kit replaces the current brake band setup on your 1-26D with a hydraulic disc brake setup. This will have increased stopping power and reduced tire wear. It will also greatly reduce the need for adjustment that the current banded brake needs in order to maintain adequate stopping. In addition to the hydraulic brake you also get a tray that moves the shoulder harness mount point aft to allow for full pilot range and provides for a battery and misc. equipment mount up to 24 lbs. This kit is approved under the aircraft Type Certificate and will only require a logbook entry for installation. The kit will add a little less than 4 lbs to the empty weight of the glider.

Axle Exchange

The above kit requires the customer to utilize a local machine shop to cutoff and re-bore the axle for bearing fit.

K&L offers an option for the customer to return their axle assembly (26202-001) to K&L. As part of the above kit, K&L will supply a reworked & re-cad plated axle assembly. This eliminates the requirement for the customer to coordinate the rework as well as reduce the lead time to complete the installation. The reworked axle assembly will be $100 with core exchange and $165.35 without a core exchange.
